This 120/240 volt ITE Pushmatic Circuit Breaker 40 amp, double pole replacement Pushmatic Circuit Breaker is used in a Pushmatic load center. Typical applications, up to 17,600 watts, include electric range (8KW - 10 KW), electric ovens, quick recovery hot water heaters and central residential air conditioners. I have a older house with the pushmatic fuse box. When I turned on the central air conditioner for the first time this year, the fuse blew and would not reset. This item is an excellent replacement and works fine with my 3 ton central air conditioner. It is very easy to install.
